“Jesus said, ‘If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free’” (John 8:31-32).
As part of our efforts here at St. Boniface to call all of our parishioners back to full and active inperson participation at Sunday Mass, we will include a new regular feature in the Sunday bulletin called “COVID 19: GET THE FACTS!” There is a lot of misinformation out there about the virus, which in turn leads to uncertainty and, in some cases, undue concern. This is at times aggravated by the commercial media who selectively edit the information they report to paint the most dire and emotionally fraught picture possible to keep people glued to their publications and programs in a cynical effort to raise revenues, with little or no concern for how this affects people’s lives. To combat the misinformation, we will regularly publish the latest most accurate information regarding our state and our area here in our bulletin, drawn not from popular media but directly from the PA Department of Health, which is available for free to everyone at https:// www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/ Cases.aspx. So please, as you prayerfully discern when the best time would be for your family to come home to St. Boniface church for Mass, base your judgement on the facts, not the hype, and we hope to see everyone back here again soon.
